(note) there are a lot of different sizes you can use so if the command line is what you want then use the right vga=* of grub to set it. In essence that is what you would have if you added all the packages you need to get auto-resize to work.Īlternatively you change the framebuffers to increase the screen resolution to what ever you want it to be when using a server with no desktop. If auto-resize is that important I would suggest that you simply install a desktop version of the OS and install the guest additions. Xorg is one of these packages and then you need to install some kind of desktop for the image to be adjustable. For auto-resize to work you need to use packages and add them to the server to make it work like a desktop. Servers do not have a desktop since they are not typically used as a desktop.
